Maple Leaf Sqaure

Currently under construction in downtown Toronto, Canada is Maple Leaf Square. This two-tower condominium, hotel, office and retail complex will combine all the elements of business, pleasure and living at its finest.
Located on a site adjacent to the Air Canada Centre, Maple Leaf Square will have 1,800,000 square feet (167,000 m2) of usable space and will cover 2.1 acres on one city block.
The project consists of two 65-story glass and concrete towers that will contain 872 residential units, a 169-room Hotel LeGermain Boutique Hotel, office and retail space, a daycare centre, a theatre, a grocery store, a sports bar, a fine dining restaurant, a rooftop garden and a swimming pool.
At the base of the towers will be a large outdoor plaza where pre-game gatherings and other sports-related events will occur.
Construction is simutaneously occuring at the Air Canada Centre itself which is expected to be complete by the Fall of 2009.
This project, combining urban living with sports and entertainment, is similar to many in the United States such as L.A. Live in Los Angeles, and Victory Park in Dallas.
Maple Leaf Square is being jointly developed by Cadillac Fairview, Lanterra and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which is the parent company of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, the NBA's Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC (of Major League Soccer), the AHL's Toronto Marlies, Leafs TV and Raptors NBA TV.
At a cost of $500 million, the project is estimated to be complete in 2011.
